Our Conference
DMUNC is an annual conference hosted by the student-run organization, Model United Nations at the University of California, Davis. Every May, more than 400 students from across California come to UC Davis to participate in a weekend of stimulating debate. This year we will be fully in person. Through simulation of UN bodies and other historical committees, we hope to spread international awareness, appreciation for diplomacy, and a dedication to improving the world. Our goal is to create an enriching educational experience for students to realize their potential to be influential leaders, confident public speakers, and concerned global citizens.
About the University of California, Davis
Ranked as one of the top public research universities in the world, UC Davis is the home of academic excellence and innovative research as well as thousands of bikes and dozens of cows. Although the campus began modestly as a university farm for UC Berkeley in 1905, UC Davis is now a prestigious university and academic institution in its own right. As most bike friendly campus in the United States and one of the most environmentally sustainable campuses in the nation, UC Davis prides itself on its endless bike circles and racks, its many zero-waste facilities, and its internationally ranked veterinary school and programs in animal science and environmental science. However, do not let this distract you from the campus itself. The diversity and beauty of UC Davis is apparent everywhere one looks: from the incredible number of languages spoken by students heading to class to the breathtaking natural scenery of the Arboretum. However, there seems to be one common characteristic shared by students, faculty, and alumni of UC Davis: the goal of making a positive global impact.
