Disarmament and International Security (DISEC)

Topic A: Nuclear Crisis and Security

Call immediate concern on the Nuclear Crisis and its impact on International relations. With direct focus on nuclear power being used as a threshold by countries worldwide to threaten other countries. Ultimately, causing concern for threats of nuclear proliferation and a breach on International Security.

Topic B: Combatting Al Weaponization

Call attention to the urgent need for further international efforts to regulate Al weaponization, with a particular focus on Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems (LAWS) and their potential misuse by non-state actors. Highlight preexisting frameworks such as the Geneva Conventions and ensure accountability for violations of international law by Al-driven weapons.

Head Chair: Gagandeep Kaur

Hi! I’m Gagandeep, a 3rd year student at the University of California, Davis, majoring in Political Science. I’m in my 2nd year of participating in Model UN and have a great interest in International Law. Outside of Model UN, I love going to Concerts and playing Soccer. I look forward to seeing everyone participating in DMUNC XXIII 2026!

Head Chair: Grace Hou

Grace Hou is a First Year Cell Biology major, and this DMUNC marks her fifth year in MUN. She is honored to be the co-chair of DISEC at DMUNC XXIII. She has previously served as Secretary General of SMICMUN VIII and Undersecretary General of Conference Affairs of SMICMUN VI. Previous to DMUNC, she mostly delegated, chaired, and hosted MUN conferences in the Asian Circuit, so this will be her first time chairing a conference with UNA-USA procedure. She is excited for the coming DMUNC and looks forward to meeting all of you!
