Unity Against the Tides of Conquest – The Council of the Nusantara Seas

This crisis committee blends history and folklore as ancient spirits, sea gods, and mythical guardians of Indonesia’s oceans rise to confront the looming Dutch East Indies colonization. Delegates will forge alliances, protect realms, and navigate centuries-old rivalries as the fate of the sacred Nusantara seas hangs in the balance.

Head Chair: Cyrus Allen

Hello, my name is Cyrus and I’m a first year international relations major from Marin California. Besides MUN, I’m also on the club lacrosse team here. My MUN career began in my high school civil discourse club before I tried out for the Davis travel team and began attending conferences. In my free time I love playing and listening to music, working out, and SCUBA diving. This is my first time as a head chair, and I’m excited to see the story our committee will shape!

Crisis Director: Aishea Nugroho

My name is Aishea Nugroho but you can call me Shea, nice to meet you! I’m a sophomore studying International Relations and I’m planning to minor in Human Rights. I am also currently the USG of Training for UCDMUN! This is only my second year in MUN, but I’ve spent about four years battling it out in the Asian and British Parliamentary debate in Jakarta, Indonesia. This committee is extra special to me, because it’s inspired by the bedtime stories my late grandfather used to tell, which filled my childhood with myths, the ocean, and a lot of Indonesian cultural pride. If not by the beach, you can spot me journaling at the Memorial Union’s Quad or spending hours in my bedroom with my art supplies and my housemate’s guitar! So, welcome to a committee built from the stories, laughter, and the love that shaped who I am today! I can’t wait to see everyone!
