Substance Abuse in the Golden Triangle

The Golden Triangle is an area in Southeast Asia where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar converge, historically known for its role as a major hub of the illicit drug trade. The immense prevalence of substance abuse in this region has become a significant catalyst for a wide array of issues, including soaring crime rates, rampant corruption, widespread addiction, deteriorating public health, escalating violence, entrenched poverty, and a surge in human trafficking.
With drug addiction rates reaching unprecedented levels, delegates must collaborate to develop comprehensive and sustainable solutions to combat the multifaceted challenges posed by the drug trade and its repercussions.
