The Muppets: The Path to a Muppetational Future

It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights! It’s February, 2004 and Michael Eisner and the Walt Disney Company have acquired the Muppets intellectual property from the Jim Henson Company. Now, the pressure is on for the ragtag group of performers to reinvent themselves for the modern era and prove they’re just as culturally significant today as they were in their 1970s heyday. Will the Muppets be able to remain relevant in this new day and age or will competing egos and kooky characters doom the Muppets as we know them to obscurity? It’s up to you to decide in this crisis committee based on Jim Henson’s Muppets characters and the 2011 film The Muppets!

Crisis Director: Brody Andrews

Brody Andrews is a second-year double majoring in History and Cinema and Digital Media at UC Davis. Brody has participated in MUN for 5 years, is the current Under Secretary General of Internal Affairs for UC Davis’s team, and served as the Crisis Director of the Rebels side for DMUNC XX’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story committee. He can’t wait to meet all of you in this year’s Muppets crisis committee and, hopefully, find out why there are so many songs about rainbows!
