DMUNC XXI

Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory

Committee Description

Eccentric billionaire and chocolate mogul, Willard Wilbur Wonka, is seeking a successor. Only one of five children – lucky enough to find one of the coveted Golden Tickets amongst the mountains of candy bars sold each day – have a chance at becoming that successor. But all the wealth and power of Wonka being up for grabs has caught the eye of many interested parties – the parents of these children, of course, but also organizations such as the Food & Drug Administration, rival chocolatiers, Dentists Against Cavities, and even the Oompa-Loompa-Doopity-Union. Representatives of these rival factions will vye to gain influence with their chosen candidate, while avoiding the ever-present workplace safety accidents occurring on a daily basis in the Wonka factory.

Crisis Director: Thomas Watson

My name is Thomas Watson, the Crisis Director for the Willy Wonka committee. I’m a third year here at UC Davis and have been involved in Model UN since 9th grade, making this my 7th year of MUN. Outside of Model UN, I like to dabble in basically any hobby I can find time for – in particular, I love video game programming, 3D printing, robotics, drama, D&D, and graphic design.
